What you'll need:

1You'll need 6 slices total of your bacon of choice. In my case HEB Thick slice bacon.

2You'll also need a cutting board.

3And a good pan, I recommend cast-iron of course.

4Also prep a plate to drain the bacon, and cut some lettuce, then get out your mayo.

Let's get cookin:

1Slice your 6 bacon strips down the center, creating 12 smaller strips. Start pre-heating your pan now while you're weaving.

2Ever take a weaving class? Same principle, over/under and through.

3Will look something like this when you're done.

6And there we have it. Since your pan should be nice and warm now, go ahead and toss them in. They will fall apart if you're not carreful.

7About 5 to 10 minutes per side should do it, depending on your pan and stove.

8If you have a meat press, it comes in handy here.

9Flip each bacon weave after they look nice and brown.

10Ideally you'll only want to flip it once, here you see I was a bit overzealous and will need to flip it twice.

11Done; nice and crispy.

12Spread your mayo on one half.

13Add lettuce (and tomato, or whatever else is going on this)


In this example I neglected to buy a tomato, hence why there is not one present.
Otherwise a single slice is not all that high in carbs.
You can of course make all sorts of changes; you could add cheese, bake the bacon instead of frying it, etc.

Ah, the BLT. But tomatoes are kind of carby, and of course so is the bread. But why should that stop us?
